ANTIPHONARIUM, Franciscan, Breviarium Romanian 1481 passim. Items on ff. 1-4 consist mainly of antiphons ad Magnificat at I vespers. invitatories, antiphons at lauds, and antiphons ad Magnificat at II vespers. Only one bif. is missing from between biff. 1/4 and 2/3. Otherwise the sequence in the common of saints for the paschal time (ff. 1-2) would be unsatisfying. For this reason there has been no place between ff. 3 and 4 for the following observances, at least if they were entire proper offices: Erici regis (18th of May), Eskilli episcopi (12th ofjune), dedications ecclesiae Aboensis (17th ofjune) and translationis Henrici (18th of June). These were frequent and noteworthy in the secular use of Finland.

F. 2 [Idem] probably continuing with the end of matins but the chant cannot be identified because of the fragmentary state of the leaf; [Philippi et Jacobi apostolorum] ending with the second word of the ant. ad Magnificat at II vespers, Si manseritis.
E 3 [Inventionis crucis] beginning undoubtedly with the ant. ad Magnificat at I vespers, [O crux splendidior], but the passage cannot be identified because ot the fragmentary state of the leaf. Ends with the second word of the ant. ad Benedictus, Elena sancta. "S" As far may be determined only one antiphon and two great responsories are given for matins, all of them belonging to the III nocturn. F. 4 [Johannis Baptistae] beginning possibly with the 1st resp. of the I noct., but the chant is unrecognizable because of the defective state of the leaf. Ends pugillarem of the 3rd resp. of the II noct., Innuebant patri cius. Ff. 5-8 [Anthonij confessoris] beginning with the 2nd resp. of the III nocturn.
