6 folios. 18.5-19 x 30 cm. 1 column, 11 lines. The bottom off. 6'is dark. Some shrinkage. TIxe green colour of the large initials has corroded the parchment.
13- 14th cc. Large initials: 1) ultramarine (various tones), 2) red, and 3) green (very various tones). Onf. V there is a very large initial in blue and red. It opens a series of great "O" antiphons. Small initials are highlighted with red. Quadratic notation on a red four-line staff (14-15 mm), custos, eephalicus. Photograph off. 2'on p. 28. Bears a stylistic resemblance to Antiphoner No. 16 (Franciscan), but Antiphoner No. 39 (Franciscan) may also come from the same scriptorium. See SRA KA Strödda finska räkenskaper och handlingar "Kasterholmsgårds rekenskap 1546" (one leaf, inch dom. IV adv.).
ANTIPHONARIUM, Franciscan. See Breviarium Romanum 1481 passim, from which this manuscript differs, however, in the office of St. Mary Magdalen. Since the feast of St. Olaf is ignored, presumably the manuscript does not originate from a Nordic country.
Ff. 1-2 [Antiphonae "O"]. *3" The series includes seven chants; Feria ij [post dominicam IV adventus]; ¦+¦ Feria iiij ending omnes duces of the resp. Orietur Stella ex. Ff. 3-4 [In circumcisione Domini] beginning with the I nocturn, and ending Nescieus mater, the opening words of the 2nd resp. of the III nocturn. F. 5 [Mariae Magdalenae] beginning odorem suauitatis, the closing words of the 1st ant. at lauds, [Dum esset rex], cs" Hymns: Huius obtentu (ta), Nardi [Maria pistici] (ta). The last mentioned seems to be a division for Magnum salutis gaudium; In [festo] sancti petri ad uincula. "S" A longer rubric precedes this item, but the writing is defective. Hymns: Jam bone (ta), Petrus beams (ta); In festiuitate sancti laurencij ending in the rubric of the I nocturn. e* Hymn: Deus tiiorum (ta). F. 6 [Idem] continuing [tridu]um me of the 2nd resp. of the II noct., [Noli me dcrclinquere V Nos], and ending Interrogate of the 3rd resp. of the III noct.. Gaudeo plane.
Cameral record only on bif. 1/2. Its form and the missing headlines on other leaves suggest that the documents were attached to their wrapper in Finland, see Haapanen 1922 p. XXIV. It is worth noting that every double leaf has been folded around the documents in the same way.
