Copies of two letters of sustenance were pasted on this parchment, reinforcing the wrapper. One was addressed by Finland's viceroy, duke Johan (king of Sweden 1568-1592). to Peder Bruntesson, whose taxes formed the contents of this ledger. The letter is mentioned in Johan's diary of correspondence on the 16th of March in 1558:"Underhall for Fougden Par Brunteson pa sex pund spannemal". See Hertigjohans af Finland Diarium 1891 p. 29. F. 8 This vellum consists of two strips, with no cameral headline. A piece of a pastedown paper pn the inner part of the leaf, however, looks like the rough copy of a deed. The name "Cairis" is legible. The place in question might be Kairis (Kairinen Fi), a bishops estate in S:t Karins parish. near Abo. Oja 1946 pp. 214-215, LINDBERG 1975 p. 83.
